Designed around the way
your specialty works.
Infection episode linked to organism/test evidence, treatment course, exposure and public-health obligations.
Capture syndrome, exposure/travel, onset, immunization, immune status and infection-prevention precautions.
Coordinate specimens, microbiology/molecular results, resistance, imaging and specialist review with isolation status separately managed.
Support HIV, TB, hepatitis and other chronic infection programmes with treatment history, adherence, monitoring and outcomes.
Provide antimicrobial review, OPAT where offered, contact/referral workflows and authorized public-health reporting with disclosure controls.
Diagnosis coverage and clinical records
HIV, TB, viral hepatitis, malaria, respiratory/urinary infections, invasive bacterial/fungal infections and opportunistic infections. Record suspected/probable/confirmed status, organism and resistance evidence; colonization and contamination must remain distinct from infection.
Measurements that give the record meaning
| Measurement | Units / representation | Clinical context |
|---|---|---|
| Viral load | copies/mL or IU/mL | Assay, detection limit, specimen and collection date |
| CD4 | cells/µL; % | Method and longitudinal context |
| Microbiology susceptibility | MIC; category | Isolate, antimicrobial, method and breakpoint edition |
| Molecular result | qualitative/quantitative | Target, assay, resistance marker and interpretation |
| Weight/temperature | kg; °C | Treatment monitoring and clinical context |
| Treatment exposure | days; doses | Regimen/version, adherence source and interruptions |
| Programme outcomes | coded category | Disease-specific definition, assessment date and evidence |
Equipment and integration plans
- PCR platforms, culture systems and susceptibility analysers → Laboratory integrations; maintain accession/isolate identifiers.
- Public-health registries/DHIS2 or national programme tools → only agreed datasets and permitted transfer; product name alone does not establish an available interface.
Connections require an approved interface and testing against the installed manufacturer, model and software. Listed equipment is a candidate integration target.
Explore equipment & roboticsReporting and meaningful outcomes
Treatment completion, viral-load monitoring, time to organism/result review and antimicrobial review completion; choose programme-approved cohorts and exclude unresolved outcomes explicitly.
Development scope and clinical validation
Initial scope
Infection history, evidence, treatment/adherence, precautions and follow-up.
Advanced scope
Microbiology connectivity, programme exchange and stewardship dashboards.
Example acceptance scenarios
- An antimicrobial resistance result must stay attached to the correct isolate and specimen.
- Restricted HIV/TB data must be tested through exports and shared dashboards; surveillance counts should use the approved de-identification rules.
